✦ Virtue of Surah Al-Mulk: The Prophet (ﷺ) said:
“There is a Surah in the Qur'an of thirty verses which will intercede for a man
until he is forgiven. It is: ‘Blessed is He in whose hand is the dominion.’”
(Tirmidhi 2891, Abu Dawud 1400 — graded hasan) — that is why it is known as

Frequently Asked Questions about Surah Al-Mulk
Everything you need to know about the Surah that protects from the grave
What are the benefits of reading Surah Al-Mulk daily?
Surah Al-Mulk is one of the most beloved Surahs for daily recitation. The Prophet (ﷺ)
said that it intercedes for the reciter until he is forgiven
(Tirmidhi 2891). It is also known as Al-Mani‘ah — the Protector —
because it shields the reciter from the punishment of the grave. Daily recitation
keeps the heart anchored in tawakkul, reminds the reader that Allah alone
controls all dominion, and brings peace and barakah into one's life.
When is the best time to recite Surah Al-Mulk?
The most recommended time is before going to sleep at night, following
the practice of the Prophet (ﷺ) and his Companions. It is reported that Abdullah ibn
Abbas and other Companions would not sleep until they had recited Surah Al-Mulk.
You may also recite it after Maghrib, after Isha, or at any quiet moment of the day.
Consistency matters most — a small daily habit is better than an occasional long session.
Is this Surah Mulk PDF file free to download?
Yes — the PDF is completely free. There is no payment, subscription or
sign-up required. You may download it, print it, and share it with family and friends
for personal and non-commercial use.
Can I read Surah Mulk PDF offline on mobile devices?
Absolutely. Once downloaded, the file is stored on your phone or tablet and works
without an internet connection. It opens in any standard PDF reader
(Adobe Acrobat, Google Drive, WPS, Files by Google, iBooks, etc.) and supports zooming,
bookmarks and night mode for comfortable reading.
How many Ayat does Surah Al-Mulk have?
Surah Al-Mulk contains exactly 30 Ayat. It is the
67th Surah of the Holy Qur'an, classified as
Meccan (Makki), and it is located in Juz 29. It is
one of the shortest Surahs in the Qur'an, yet it carries one of the greatest rewards.
What is the main theme of Surah Al-Mulk?
Surah Al-Mulk establishes the absolute sovereignty of Allah over all
creation. It invites the reader to reflect on the perfection of the heavens, the stars,
the earth, the birds in flight, the water we drink, and the very life within us. It
then confronts the disbelievers with the reality of the Hereafter and closes with a
gentle warning: “Say: Have you considered — if your water were to sink away, who
then could bring you flowing water?” (verse 30). The whole Surah is a call to
tawheed, gratitude and mindfulness of Allah.
Why is Surah Al-Mulk called Al-Mani‘ah?
Al-Mani‘ah means “The Protector” or “The Preventer”.
It is called this because it protects the one who recites it regularly from the
punishment of the grave. Several narrations mention that it will appear on the Day
of Judgement and argue on behalf of its reciter until he is forgiven.
Which Arabic script is used in this tool?
This tool uses the Uthmani script (also called Madani Mushaf script),
which is the standard for printed Qur'ans worldwide. It includes complete
Tashkeel (Harakat — the vowel marks) so that the text can be read
accurately even by readers who are not fluent in classical Arabic. The font used is
Amiri — an industry-standard Arabic calligraphic font.
Is the English translation authentic?
Yes. This tool uses the Sahih International English translation — one
of the most widely accepted, scholarly-reviewed translations of the Qur'an available
in modern English. It is used by major Islamic institutions worldwide and is faithful
to the original Arabic meaning without excessive interpretation.
Can I read Surah Al-Mulk in English only?
Yes. Scroll through the tool to view the English translation of each verse. However, it
is highly recommended to recite the Arabic text as well, since the Qur'an's spiritual
and linguistic miracle is preserved in its original Arabic form. English translation is
a scholarly interpretation of the meaning — it is not the Qur'an itself.
